Happy Puzzle #100! I wanted to get this milestone right, so I spent a lot of time brainstorming ideas. Unfortunately, I ended up with six puzzles I liked a lot and no way to choose between them. So, I gave each puzzle a number, rolled a die, and decided to publish the puzzle whose number came up.
I rolled a five, so here's the puzzle I chose; thanks to David Gold for testing! It has a little intro:
Uh oh—we were in a rush for the big NYTFW (New York Times Fashion Week) show, so we threw these four outfits together, using nine articles of clothing. Things were going well, but we just realized we're missing an article! Which article is it?
That's #100! I wonder how things would've been different if I had rolled another number.
